Visakhapatnam: Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao announced the party’s support to Pakalapati Raghu Varma in the Teachers’ Legislative Council elections.

Speaking to the media at a press conference at the TD’s district office on Wednesday, Srinivasa Rao said the decision to back Raghu Varma came on the orders of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh.

Visakhapatnam MP Mathukumilli Sribharat emphasised that Raghu Varma, known for his dedicated teacher service and advocacy on north Andhra issues, is an ideal candidate. He said the election of Raghu Varma, under the leadership of education minister Nara Lokesh, would lead to beneficial decisions for the education sector.

The Private Teachers’ Association has supported Raghu Varma in the Teachers’ Legislative Council elections.

Raghu Varma, who has served two terms in the Legislative Council, has urged continued support for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership to address north Andhra’s developmental needs.

Former Legislative Council member A.S. Ramakrishna has reflected on the past elections, asserting the alliance partners’ ongoing commitment to the state’s future. Legislative Council whip Dr Vepada Chiranjeevi mentioned that new transparent transfer rules and improvements in junior colleges are being introduced under Lokesh’s leadership.

MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, Vamsi Krishna Srinivas, district chief secretary Polamarasetti Srinivasa Rao and others participated in the meeting.
