Ahmedabad will host the sixth edition of the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), a franchise-based table tennis league, from May 29 to June 15. The host city is in sync with the push towards portraying Ahmedabad as a hotbed for sports events.
Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani, co-promoters of the league, announced the window for the league along with the new venue through a statement on Friday. “Ahmedabad and Gujarat are rapidly emerging as strong hubs for Olympic sports, especially with India’s bid to host the Olympics in the future gaining momentum. Bringing Season 6 here is a step toward further strengthening that growth,” they said.
After being staged in Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai in its previous editions, it will be the first time UTT will be played in a city in Gujarat. The league will continue to feature eight teams.
