OPPO officially unveils Find N5 foldable that’s as thin as your USB-C port
OPPO today (20 February 2025) announced the OPPO Find N5, its premium-grade book-style foldable phone.
With Singapore chosen as its global launch venue, the phone is set to retail internationally.
From the highlights below, you’ll notice that OPPO Find N5 wants to be seen as a worthy challenger to the foldable phone category given its numerous innovations in both hardware and software arenas.

Almost as thin as your USB-C, unfolded
OPPO has managed to push the phone’s dimensions to the absolute limit by introducing the thinnest foldable phone currently available. When unfolded, the OPPO Find N5 is just 4.21mm thin and still fits an industry-standard yet customised USB-C port.
For reference, the phone is so thin that it cannot fit a 3.5mm headphone jack, and its main rival (the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6) is 5.6mm unfolded. Even when folded, the OPPO Find N5 is 8.93mm, close to the standard thickness of oversized bar-type phones (Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max, for instance, is 8.25mm). This also dethrones Honor Magic V3’s position as the thinnest foldable in Singapore (4.35mm unfolded, 9.2mm folded).
Despite reducing its profile, OPPO still found ways to outperform others in terms of durability. OPPO Find N5 is the first foldable with an IPX9 rating, certified to resist water jets at extreme temperatures.
Structural integrity was also improved with a 30% increase in strength thanks to the use of 7000-series aluminium alloy, and drop resistance went up by 20% because of its outer screen’s nanocrystal glass. All these are on top of Armour Shield, the chosen structural architecture of the device.
Titanium Flexion Hinge
The Find N5 uses Titanium Flexion Hinge for its folding mechanism, which is 26% smaller and 36% more rigid than the OPPO Find N3’s hinge. The hinge cover and wing plates are made from Grade 5 titanium alloy, while the load-bearing parts use OPPO-customised Ultra-High Strength Steel.
If all those materials made no sense, OPPO made sure to get TÜV Rheinland Reliable Folding Certification so you know it’s rated for at least 100,000 folds in 50°C conditions.
8.12-inch main display, a tablet in your pocket
The dual-display OPPO Find N5 features an 8.16-inch main display (inside) and a 6.62-inch outer screen. Both are LTPO AMOLED with 1-120Hz refresh rates, HDR10+ support, and Dolby Vision ready.
Crucially, the outer screen has a 20.7:9 aspect ratio, which means zero compromises when using it like a regular smartphone.
The inner display’s 9.9:9 aspect ratio makes it ideal for multitasking, but its crowning jewel is the shallow crease. It’s 10% narrower and 50% shallower than before, and the predecessor already had one of the less visible creases on a folding phone.
OPPO also bumped up the inner display’s impact resistance by another 70% by using an anti-shock elastomer, a top film, and a 0.1mm stainless steel support plate for its inner display.
Hasselblad Camera System
The rear cameras comprise the entire Hasselblad Master Camera System, and OPPO’s HyperTone Image Engine further supports it.
The phone has a 50MP main camera (LYT-700 sensor, the same as the Find X8), an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom (70mm-equivalent).
Instead of the ultrawide, the telephoto lens doubles as its macro camera.
It also takes on Find X8 series’ “lossless” in-sensor crop zoom to offer 6x zoom, and goes up to 30x digital zoom with the help of AI.
Other inherited camera features from the Find X8 series include Master Mode, Dolby Vision HDR Video, Lightning Snap, Film Simulation, and AI LivePhoto.
Larger battery capacity than other foldables
OPPO Find N5 has a silicon-carbon battery with 10% more silicon content, giving it a 5,600mAh capacity (~16% more than its predecessor).
Supporting that is 80W wired SuperVOOC charging and 50W wireless AirVOOC. OPPO claims its wireless charging also supports magnetic charging and mounting.
Packing performance to its brim
Despite its super-thin build, OPPO Find N5 still uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, UFS 4.0 for storage technology and LPDDR5X for RAM. The phone leaves no room for compromises.
Other performance tweaks include OPPO AI LinkBoost 2.0, which OPPO claims can create more consistent and faster mobile data connections even in crowded places. AI LinkBoost 2.0 is responsible for 30.6% faster video uploading at concerts, 20.1% better short video stability while inside elevators, and 51.5% reduced latency in online gaming.
For user privacy and security, it has a “dedicated security chip” on the device, where personal data is stored.
Mac compatibility on an OPPO foldable?!
OPPO Find N5 uses the same operating system as its Find X8 Pro’s: ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. However, the newly added perk is O+ Connect for Mac.
MacOS users can install this O+ Connect app on their Apple desktops and laptops. While on the same Wi-Fi network, they can transfer photos, notes, videos, and documents and even edit files on their phones directly on the Mac. After granting the software the necessary access and permissions, it also doubles as a remote control for the Mac.
The multi-tasking Boundless View, which debuted on its predecessor, is also available on the new foldable. AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI Assistant, and AI ToolBox, which were in the Find X8 Pro, come to Find N5, too.
Oh, and Google’s Gemini is also pre-installed, in case you need it. Gemini is also tied to its power button (long-press).
Other perks
OPPO Find N5 will have four years of OS updates and five years of security updates.
Finally, it also has a 12GB RAM Expansion, which allows the device to allocate 12GB of memory as virtual RAM for more processing power, at the cost of some file storage space.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO Find N5’s official retail price is S$2,499 in one configuration (16GB RAM+512GB storage).
