Vijayawada: Tourism Minister, Kandula Durgesh, has promised investors that the state government will provide all necessary support and incentives to promote tourism in the state.
Speaking at the South Asia Leading Travel and Tourism Exhibition 2025 in New Delhi, Durgesh said the AP government has declared tourism as an industry and will provide all the incentives and subsidies that are available to other industries.
The minister invited national and international investors to put their money in the state’s sector, citing AP’s favourable business climate and growth opportunities. He also encouraged tourists to visit the state.
Durgesh said Andhra Pradesh is giving a boost to its tourism sector, with plans to attract Rs 25,000 crore in investments over the next five years. The state aims to develop a comprehensive tourism infrastructure, focusing on sustainable and comprehensive tourism, economic growth, employment opportunities, and cultural preservation. He invited investors to be a part of it.
He assured investors that the government would provide all necessary support and incentives to them. He cited AP’s tourism policy for 2024-29, which aimed to promote sustainable tourism. “We would develop tourism circuits, anchor hubs, and thematic approaches, as well as the creation of international-standard infrastructure,” he said.
The minister invited investors, tour operators, travellers and enthusiasts to invest in the state’s tourism sector. The state government would provide all necessary support to make their investments successful, he said.
“AP is developing various tourism sectors, including temple, adventure, eco, wellness, heritage, religious, agri, medical, cruise, beach, coastal, seaplane, rural, and film tourism. We are also adopting a hub-and-spoke approach, establishing anchor hubs to attract tourists,” he said.
Durgesh said the safety of tourists is a top priority. “We aim to promote tourism development, economic growth, and job creation, with a focus on sustainable development.”
