Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Fibernet chairman GV Reddy, in a sensational decision, has terminated the services of three higher officials in his wing.
The trio removed from services include Fibernet Business and Operations Head Gandhamsetti Suresh, Procurement assistant manager Shashank Haidar Khan, AP Fibernet chief technology officer Pappu Bharadwaja.
GV Reddy said that though orders have been issued for the removal of 410 regular employees in the Fibernet wing last December, it has not been implemented as the Fibernet MD and ED did not sign on the papers.
The orders also included that these employees be paid their salaries and then removed from their duties.
GV Reddy wondered why the higher officials were not able to comply with the orders and remove the employees, when a decision has been taken. Is it because the defying officials are in cahoots with the previous government, he asked.
The GST officials imposed a fine of Rs 377 crore on Fibernet but the officials had not brought the issue to my notice, he said.
The chairman said that there has been no development in the functioning of the Fibernet, even after the TD coalition government has taken charge of the government eight months ago.
He criticized the officials for not cooperating with him in bringing about reforms in Fibernet. Not a single new connection has been given in the last 8 months and there has been no new income for the Fibernet during this period.
Reddy said that the officials were being lackadaisical. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been urging the officials to bring issues to his notice but in Fibernet the officials do not seem have taken his words into consideration.
