Vijayawada:Five intermediate first year girls, who ran away from home in the early hours on Thursday, were traced and handed over to their parents at Mustabada of Gannavaram mandal in Krishna district on Thursday.

According to Gannavaram CI B.V. Siva Prasad, the girls studied inter-first year at a private college in the city and of them, four hailed from Mustabada and one from the city.

Parents of two girls from Mustabada admonished their daughters for being absent to the college on one pretext or other and even warned them to stop them from going to college.

Angered by it, the two girls motivated three more girls to go away from home only to return after a week. Accordingly, all five girls left their houses early in the morning and went to a common place.

However, their parents after noticing their daughters missing lodged a complaint with the police. After registering the case, police launched a massive hunt for them and found them travelling in a train at Piduguralla. They were brought back and given counselling before being handed over to their parents.
