The Pakistan Cricket Board will be refunding the tickets for the matches where inclement weather did not allow the toss to happen in the Champions Trophy. Two matches at the Rawalpindi stadium were washed out without a single ball being bowled due to non-stop rain.
The PCB announced on Saturday, March 1, that it will refund tickets as per the policy of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The board, however, mentioned certain clauses that will need to be met by the ticket holders before getting their refunds.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a full ticket refund for the two ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches that were abandoned without a ball being bowled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The affected matches include Australia vs South Africa on 25 February and Bangladesh vs Pakistan on 27 February,” the board said on Saturday.
“Ticket holders of hospitality tickets (boxes and PCB gallery) will not be eligible for a refund,” it added.
The board said that eligible ticket holders would need to claim their refund at select TCS outlets between Monday, March 10, and Friday, March 14, and that the holders would need to meet certain criteria before getting their refund processed.
- Present an original/undamaged ticket as proof of purchase.
- The purchaser will have to personally visit the TCS outlet to claim a refund. His/her refund cannot be claimed on his/her behalf.
The Pakistan Cricket Board faced intense criticism after multiple washouts in the tournament. The criticism grew after Afghanistan vs Australia’s group stage match was washed out after just 30 minutes of rain in Lahore. The conditions at the Lahore Stadium were hazardous for the groundstaff as well. One of the staff slipped and fell on his back while moping the water in the playing area on Friday, February 28.
